My Single Story

Obesity is an issue for both sides of my family.  I have been overweight almost my entire life.  I remember being in junior high and high school and other students making fun of me by telling "fat" jokes.  I have been eating healthy my entire life and keep busy all of the time.  I have several medical issues that are the underlying cause for my weight problems.  There are several misconceptions of obese people such laziness, overeating, and nonproductive.  The single story video shows that people need to keep an open mind and not fall into the trap of an image that society has developed.  All are equal and deserve the same.  We need to be sensitive to everyone and think about things before we use our freedom of speech.  Freedom means that we should feel accepted and treat others with respect and dignity.
